Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Gent

Every year in November, the very best track racing cyclists compete for the victory in the legendary ‘Kuipke’ cycling stadium.

Every day you can watch the race for points, the team race, the elimination race, the time trial, the super sprint and the derny. Don’t miss this spectacle! Website:www.z6sdaagse.be

Food Truck Festival

During ‘Barrio Cantina’, Korenmarkt will be turned into a large outdoor restaurant with dozens of mobile kitchenettes. The concept? A cosy market with food trucks serving a variety of dishes and street food from around the globe. Good music, fun bars and relaxing seating corners add that special touch. In a nutshell, this is the place to be!

Gent Festival of Flanders

In September, Ghent becomes a music-lover’s Mecca for three whole weeks. Hundreds of performers provide a varied mixture of classical, jazz and world music.

It opens with the festive OdeGand. The streets alongside Ghent’s waterways overflow with music, animation, art and spectacle. And to top it off: a sparkling firework display. The perfect start!

Gent Jazz Festival

Gent Jazz Festival was first organized in 2002, named “Blue Note Festival” at that time. It soon became the biggest jazz festival in the country and acquired its membership of the Europe Jazz Network, the International Jazz Festival Organisation, the “Federatie van Muziekfestival in Vlaanderen (FMiV)” and, as a Ghent based organisation, it contributed to the title of Ghent: UNESCO Creative City of Music.

Every year in July jazz enthusiasts can have a great time during the Gent Jazz Festival. Renowned artists from Belgium and abroad make up the programme

Ghent Winter Festivities

The city centre will become a winter wonderland with an ice-skating rink under the City Pavilion. From the giant Ferris wheel you’ll enjoy a view of the city from the air.

There is also a Christmas market with international stands and the Castle of the Counts changes into a winter wonderland castle.

St Nicholas’ Church is transformed into a magical ice world which is visited by Father Christmas from the second week of the Ghent Winter Festivities onwards
